A woman who was peacefully feeding turtles was forced to run away from the waters edge after a 'mystery beast' lunged at her.
In the clip, which has been shared on the Human Nature social media pages, the woman is shown crouching down by the side of the river as turtles has come up to the surface to take food from her. The animals were peacefully taking food from her hands when an unknown creature struck.
The mysterious beast startled the turtles, causing them to thrash around in the water as they rushed to get away. The woman also rushed away from the edge as the creature's head poked out of the water, seemingly looking for food.

Captioning the clip, which has gained more than 1.3million views, the account wrote: "OK, WTF was that??" Hundreds of X (Twitter) viewers have since taken to the comments to speculate over what it could be and what it wanted.
One user said: "I KNOW A VELOCIRAPTOR WHEN I SEE 1 !!!!!" Another suggested: "Water dragon?" A third wrote: "It’s like a snake croc hybrid."
A fourth quipped: "He was like where the f*** is my bite." A fifth joked: "THE LOCHNESS BABY?!?" Others even suggested it could have been a "snake" or even a real-life "pokemon".
However, most people believed it was a monitor lizard, wrting: "A monitor lizard. They are great swimmers." Another added: "Water monitor came to take advantage of the situation & grab a fish."

The Asian water monitor is species of lizard native to South and Southeast Asia, which mainly reside in rivers and coastal forests. They grow to between 4 to 7 feet long and can weigh up to 90kg, making them the world's second-heaviest lizard, after the Komodo dragon.
These creatures are carnivorous and have a diverse diet, which includes fish, frogs, rodents, birds, crabs, and snakes. Additionally, they have been observed consuming turtles, as well as young crocodiles and crocodile eggs.
