Sam Thompson has become a firm favourite on the brand new series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
The reality star is one of many famous faces roughing it up in the Aussie jungle. He’s joined the likes of Danielle Harold and Josie Gibson to be pushed to their limits, all in front of the nation.
Away from the famous camp though, Sam is best known for his stints on several reality shows. He made his telly debut on Made In Chelsea ten years ago, and since then he’s carved a mega successful career.

And it’s not just his career that’s going great – his love life is also pretty good too. Since 2019, Sam has been dating Love Island star Zara McDermott.
But it hasn’t always been plain sailing for the showbiz couple. So as Sam gets stuck into his jungle journey, Daily Star is taking a look inside his romance with Zara.
Sliding into his DMs
Zara shot to fame on Love Island in 2018, while Sam found fame on Made In Chelsea in 2013. So it’s no surprise the two reality stars would strike up a relationship.
In 2019, Sam confirmed he was dating Zara. He told OK Magazine that Zara made the first move: "She slid into my DMs. It was great and I’m glad she did."
The pair then went Instagram-official with their relationship, sending fans of the duo into a frenzy. Zara also ended up appearing on Made In Chelsea, alongside her beau.
Cheating scandal
In 2018, Zara joined fellow Love Island stars Wes Nelson, Eyal Booker and Samira Mighty on The X Factor: Celebrity. However, cheating rumours soon emerged.
While on the show, it was claimed that Zara had been seeing an industry boss behind Sam's back. On Made In Chelsea, Sam began to suspect something fishy was going on and recalled how Zara said was staying in the studio while her X Factor bandmates were in bed.
He also revealed how he flew “14 hours across the world” to surprise Zara after her first live X Factor: Celebrity show. But instead, she told him to “go home.”
At first, Zara denied any wrongdoing. However she and Sam split in August 2020 and Zara eventually admitted to cheating.
‘Hugely selfish and immature’
Zara confessed to the "huge mistake" in an open letter on social media in 2019. Branding herself "hugely selfish and immature", Zara decided to publicly come clean.
“I just wanted to address the recent speculation in the media. A huge mistake I made a year ago has recently come to light and I want to face this head on. I don't condone being unfaithful and I made a huge mistake at a time in my life where I was hugely selfish and immature,” she said.
Zara continued, “I believe I have learnt so much from my mistake. I want to apologise to my Sam for everything I have put him through, for the pain, the embarrassment, the anger and the hurt. All I want to do is make this right and I think the least he deserves is me being honest with myself and all of you.”
Crying on television
That same month, Zara tried to make things right and begged for forgiveness on Made In Chelsea. During the scene, Sam told her: “I see absolutely no way, because how can there ever be a way when I can’t even trust this."
The clip has become an iconic scene and shows Zara in tears and crying in public, with Sam declaring: "I can't do it…" and Zara crying: "You can! You can do it." Fortunately, the pair have since seen the funny side of the video.
Sam’s savage clap back
Shortly after that iconic Made In Chelsea scene, Sam poked fun at cheating Zara McDermott. He posted a video of himself mocking the moment she begged for forgiveness.
But it appeared he had second thoughts about it as he deleted it just moments later. In the savage clip, the reality star could be seen eating a huge plate of food, as he lip-synced to Zara's words.
He was seen to be talking to himself in a different outfit, acting out his own words as he wrestled with another plate of grub. The moment was taken from the episode of Made in Chelsea, which saw Zara begging for forgiveness after her cheating came to light.

Proving all the doubters wrong, Sam and Zara eventually reunited at the end of 2020. In a statement to MailOnline, Sam said: “I believe in forgiveness.
“I understand the context – and I think in any walk of life you can't move forward unless you forgive. Forgiveness allows you to heal.”
He added: “You can only heal when you forgive the other person and get over that. I would definitely say no matter what you should always try to forgive and you'll feel better in yourself – it's easier said than done but you've got to strive for that.”
