I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! contestant Sam Thompson has opened up about his friendship with one recognisable face from Big Brother 2023 in an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk.
In a wider chat about his work with Boots, which sees him present The Locker Room series in a bid to get more men talking about their mental health, the TV personality spoke about his connection to ITV presenter Will Best.
The former Made In Chelsea star and Love Island podcast host, who can often be seen making hilarious TikTok and Instagram videos with his Strictly star girlfriend Zara McDermott, described Will as “the loveliest guy”.
Sam previously took part in Celebrity Big Brother in 2017, finishing in third place, but that’s not how the pair know each other.
Speaking ahead of Big Brother’s final, which saw quick-witted Jordan Sangha take the crown this year, Sam gushed about new presenter Will.

“I think it’s such an iconic show,” he reflected. “I actually know Will Best and he’s just the loveliest guy and he’s sort of carved through the presenting ranks, I suppose.
“I always look at him like he’s a year above me,” he explained. “He’s a little bit older than me.
“And he actually taught me, I remember when I worked for a company called Build Series London, which was an interviewing platform.
“I remember my boss at the time saying, ‘This is Will, he’s our best presenter here’, and he taught me basically how to interview people and how to host shows and stuff.
“So to see him doing so well is so awesome,” Sam added enthusiastically.

Speaking about Will’s co-host this year, former Strictly finalist AJ Odudu, Sam confirmed he also thought she was doing “an amazing job”.
“I’ve known her for years,” he reflected. “I mean, look, there’s nothing to not enjoy about Big Brother. I love the hosts, I love the concept and I’m just a super fan of that show. Long may it continue.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Sam cheekily hinted about his future stint on I’m A Celeb before the line-up was officially announced, sharing: “I’ve got to say, if I were to be signed up for anything like I’m A Celeb, I’d just feel incredibly lucky and fortunate to be there, because I never really thought I’d be able to get there.
“So yeah, it would be an amazing experience,” he added with a smile, “If I were to be doing it.”
Sam isn’t the only celebrity joining the I’m A Celeb line-up for 2023, with former UKIP leader Nigel Farage also appearing on our screens.
First Dates star Fred Sirieix and This Morning host Josie Gibson are also partaking, while Britney Spears’ sister Jamie Lynn Spears has also made her debut.
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Continues tonight at 9pm on ITV.
