They called time on their relationship in early 2023, shortly after publicly announcing their pregnancy news.
But Laura Anderson has now revealed that she and ex Gary Lucy attempted to give things another go ahead of welcoming their baby daughter Bonnie in September.
Ex Hollyoaks actor Gary, 41, was by her side throughout the labour and the former couple spent the week in Scotland as a family of three following the birth.
When asked if she would consider getting back with Gary, former Love Island star Laura, 34, revealed to OK!: "Well, we did try before the birth, but it’s just not really worked out so far."
She continued: "When we first got together and decided to have a baby – because Bonnie was planned – it was what I wanted. But it’s quite common for parents not to be together for whatever reason.
"And I’ve found a community, connecting with a lot of women on Instagram who’ve reached out to me and said that seeing me manage on my own has made them feel that they can do it too.”
Despite things not working out, the pair, who met while filming Celebs Go Dating in summer 2022, are on civil terms for the sake of their daughter.
“Nobody has the perfect set-up, even people who are in relationships. Life is difficult and I know now it’s OK not to have the fairy-tale," she said.
“No one knows what the future holds, but it’s really important that Bonnie has a mother and a father who love her and who are getting along. She needs both of us in her life, so that is always going to be my priority.
"I would say me and Gary are friends. We’re co-parenting as best we can right now and I think it’ll fall into place and make sense as she gets older. With both of our jobs, there can’t be too much routine at the moment anyway.”
Bonnie is Laura's first child, while Gary also has four other children. He's dad to India, 18, Elvis, 12, Sadie, seven, and four-year-old Theodore with his ex-wife Natasha Gray.
Gary and Natasha tied the knot in 2014 but announced their split four years later, while Natasha was pregnant with their son Theodore.
