Is there a single celebrity currently not rocking a bob hairstyle? None that we know of. A few stars even took their shorter hairstyles out for a spin at the Pride of Britain Awards this week, including Olivia Attwood.
The former Love Island star-turned-presenter debuted her mid-length look on the night, but we didn't really spot the full transformation until she posted it in detail on her Instagram grid.
"I’m sorry for making you hear this song on your feed again but…" she captions the newly-posted short clip.
In the Reel, Olivia goes from her ultra-long and extensions-heavy hair look to a textured lob (long bob). The ends of the short style have been kept choppy, but still appear incredibly thick. We wonder if she's kept some extensions for volume, or if she's taken the plunge by going for the chop and taking her extensions out!
Either way, Olivia's followers say the short 'do is making them seriously consider booking a hair salon appointment for themselves…
"Olivia Attwood cut her hair short so I’m going to cut my hair short," says one. Another writes: "How stunning is her hair short? Almost makes me want to do it, but mine would look rubbish".
A third simply says: "That’s it I’m going for the chop'.
"The short hair though – it's the Birkin of haircuts," a fourth pens.
That Instagram user is correct in their likening of the haircut to the fashionable 'it' bag. A long bob is the most on-trend hairstyle for autumn/winter 2023, with experts predicting the specific ' butterfly' style of bob – very similar to Olivia's cut – to fly.
“The butterfly bob is just a more flexible, laid-back version of your standard bob. It plays with layers and lengths with a lot less structure, allowing the hair to frame the face more naturally," explains London hair salon, Top One.
“The term ‘butterfly’ bob comes from its face-framing feathered layers and curtain bangs, which can resemble butterfly wings that allow for some serious movement.”
