Rebecca Loos refused to sell Piers Morgan Beckham story despite family tie

‘BECKHAM’ documentary series: official trailer

Piers Morgan has claimed that Rebecca Loos refused to sell him her story about the David Beckham scandal despite having a family connection.

Rebecca, who used to be David Beckham’s personal assistant, claimed to have had an affair with him in 2004. David has strongly denied the allegation.

Piers previously waded in on the conversation in a 2005 article for The Independent, revealing that he and Rebecca are “second cousins.”

He said: “Two days into the David Beckham/Rebecca Loos scandal, I discovered she was my second cousin.

“And I had even apparently danced with her at a family wedding in Madrid.

“Despite this, she refused to switch camps from the News of the World and give the Mirror her story.

“It really does come to something when your own family flog their kiss-and-tells to a rival paper.”

The allegation between David and Rebecca recently resurfaced in a new four-part Netflix documentary which details the life and career of the football star.

In the documentary, David’s wife Victoria admitted that the months after reports of his alleged affair were the “hardest” in her life.

David said he “felt physically sick every day” as they fought to save their marriage.

The pair, who married in 1999, are one of the most famous couples in the world and have now lifted the lid on their private family life.

One of the most traumatic experiences was when the couple received threats to kidnap their firstborn son, Brooklyn.

The fashion icon said: “We were getting kidnapping threats right from when we had Brooklyn.

“I mean, you can’t even explain how that feels, because we couldn’t hide.”
