The most popular baby names set to dominate 2024 have been revealed, and experts have spotted a new trend.
It's thought floral-inspired names will be a big hit next year as huge fashion brands like Valentino and Alexander McQueen have added pretty blooms to their catwalk shows for 2024. Parents-to-be are said to be getting inspired by top designers, so pretty names are expected to blossom.
According to The Sun, flower and gift delivery service, Eflorist, put together the top ten floral-themed baby names for girls and boys – and there are some surprising entries. They predict Juniper will be the go-to name for little girls, which means "young" or "evergreen".

Meanwhile, Orion is the boys’ favourite as it symbolises good health and happiness. Eflorist reached its predictions after looking at historical ONS data on new baby names dating back to 1904.
It then went on to look at other names that are expected to gain popularity. Not far behind in the girls’ category are Azalea – meaning abundance and overwhelming joy and success – and Blossom, which has connections to themes of new beginnings and beauty.
Names such as Poppy, Lily, Daisy, Jasmine, Rose, Indigo and Violet also completed the list.
As for the boys, Rowan and Ren came in second and third place. Rowan is a flower which was traditionally used for protection, and in Celtic it also means the "tree of life" that is believed to inspire courage and wisdom.
Meanwhile, Ren is rich in Japanese culture and also symbolizes perfection and purity in Buddhism. Other favoured names for boys are Jared, Florian, Basil, Linden, Cedar, Thorn and Hollis.
David Denyer, a Flower Expert from Eflorist, spoke to The Sun about why he thinks such names are set to bloom.
He said: "From looking into historical trends, we can see a clear connection with parents being increasingly drawn to names that evoke a sense of beauty and individuality. Each name carries its own unique story, and we anticipate these floral-inspired names to blossom not only in popularity, but also in the hearts of new parents who want a meaningful name for their little ones.
"These 2024 predictions reflect a trend towards meaningful names that carry a connection to the beauty of the natural world, and we are sure to expect to see more flower-themed names blossoming in years to come."
