Darts ace Owen 'The Master' Bates has unveiled the new attire he will wear when he makes his World Darts Championship debut.
The 20-year-old, who is nicknamed 'The Master', qualified for the for the World Championships thanks to finishing second on the Challenge Tour Order of Merit, despite being ranked 121st in the PDC's Order of Merit.
Usually, Bates dons a shirt with his nickname on underneath his name on the back of it, which reads: 'Owen Bates – The Master'. And read aloud, the lewd nickname tends to prompt a wry chuckle from darts fans too.

And despite Bates' indecision over which shirt he liked better, there were plenty of fans keen to let the 20-year-old know they were fans of his new clobber. One commented on the post: "Class these, first one for me."
A second added: "Both minters!! Good luck at the worlds." A third said: "Both look nice but I prefer the white sleeved." A fourth wrote: "the blue personally but id be happy with either Owen." And the fifth said: "Both are great but I think no 2 looks better."

Sadly for fans, Bates won't be allowed to use his usual nickname, 'The Master', at the Ally Pally, after having been advised to change it by the darts governing body. Bates said: "I was advised by the PDC to change my nickname and I fully respect their decision and completely understand why they've made the decision they have."
And he has also confirmed that he won't be adopting a new nickname either for the PDC Championships either. "No, I won't have a new nickname for the World Championships, that's for sure," Bates told the MODUS Super Series at the beginning of December.
