A woman has revealed the bizarre incident while on a date at a pub, which left her ‘very uncomfortable’.
The user Runki revealed the man she was seeing had scavenged some food off an empty table who had left, according to a post on Mumsnet. The couple had visited the pub for a cosy lunch.
The man, who had been seeing Runki for “a number of months”, managed to eat so much that he didn’t need to order a meal himself – leaving his girlfriend to eat alone in front of him.
She wrote how: “when we got there, the table next to us hadn’t been cleared yet and there was quite a bit of food left on plates”.
When she asked what he wanted to eat, he replied by saying he would “just eat some leftover toast and sausages from the uncleared table”.

The poster admitted she thought he was joking and let out a laugh – but soon realised “he actually meant it”.
She described how he just took the “cold” toast and sausages and ate them, “without a plate”. His response when told he could just get some new food of his own was that he “can’t stand wasted food”.
Runki was forced to “order her own lunch and eat it, alone”. She asked the question on everyone’s lips: “Would this put you off someone?”
She then doubled back and wondered whether she should have been “more accommodating”, before quickly concluding she found it “very uncomfortable and very unattractive”.

The post later revealed how she asked him if he was “worried that someone’s saliva might be on the leftover food”, to which he replied he “couldn’t care less”.
Now, Runki wants to know “what people think” about the whole ordeal, adding: “For context he has never done this before, but has alluded to wanting to do it when we’ve been to other places”.
The comments were not kind to the mystery man, with “that’s gross”, “ugh”, “I would be dumping” and “really grim” among the top.
There was only one comment near the top which asked for more context, as they said: “Did he grow up in poverty or with money really tight?”
