An elegance coach has revealed the nine styles of winter boots that could be ‘downgrading’ your outfit.

Anna Bey, who splits her time between London and Geneva, warned her viewers against relying on certain types of shoes to complete their classy ensembles.

The well-known lifestyle guru, who ‘helps women improve themselves so they can live their best lives’, offered the advice in her latest video on YouTube, where she has 1.77million subscribers.

She claimed that several styles of boots appear ‘cheap’ and ruin upmarket outfits – including denim, platform and sock options.

The YouTuber also suggested her fans avoid colourful designs, instead insisting they stick to more neutral colours unless their own personal style is quite bright and vibrant.

Anna explained: ‘Colourful boots can potentially work if you are very creative in your style and really choose the right type of creative and dramatic looking items that are very colourful and bold.

‘…Most of the time you should choose boots in a fairly neutral colour – again there will be exceptions to this rule – but unless you are advanced in your fashion styling do not experiment with things like this.’

She added: ‘If you are interested in a feminine style then I highly recommend that you get lace up knee high boots. They always look very elegant, very sophisticated and is definitely going to elevate your look.’

Anna than stressed the importance of styling your platform boots to avoid ‘downgrading’ your outfit.

‘The beauty of platforms are, they’re supposed to just kind of trick your mind, you’re not really supposed to see them,’ suggested the elegance coach.

Offering an example of how platform boots can be styled to ensure an ‘elegant’ look, Anna said trousers that cover and go all the way down to the floor are a great option to use.

The elegant coach then insisted that rather than wearing sock boots, those striving for a classy style should just opt for classic trainers for a low-key ensemble.

Anna also suggested her viewers avoid wearing Moon Boots, but admitted: ‘They’re actually quite popular in the mountains.

Elsewhere, Anna shared her dislike for slouchy boots as she labelled them ‘unattractive’ and ‘not flattering’

‘I don’t think they’re comfortable at all… I think that in the mountains you can actually wear so many more nicer boots that look elegant.’

The elegance coach also called denim boots ‘cheap’, and trendy diamante sock boots ‘bizarre’.

However, Anna did admit: ‘If somebody really understands how to style something like this it will work but if you want to have a classic and timeless style this shoe is going to do it a disservice that is for sure.’

Last month, the elegance coach revealed the ways in which you could be ‘cheapening your appearance’ and warned her viewers against overly whitening their teeth or wearing too much perfume.

She claimed that ‘harsh’ make-up, obvious facial hair and eye-catching nails that are decorated all result in a less elegant look for those wanting a classy appearance.

Anna said her suggestions aimed to ‘fine-tune some details that might be holding your presentation back’.

Firstly, the elegance coach insisted wearing too much perfume should be avoided, explaining: ‘You have to always bear in mind the people around you.

Anna also suggested her viewers avoid wearing Moon Boots (pictured), but admitted: ‘They’re actually quite popular in the mountains

‘There are a lot of people who are allergic to perfume or people like me with a medical condition that actually react and get nauseous when we smell your incredibly strong perfume.

‘So be mindful of how much perfume you spray on because actually your perfume might not smell that good.’

Anna then revealed how tattooed make-up, such as permanent eyeliner, eyebrows and lipliner should be avoided.

If viewers wished to try the permanent make-up, the elegance coach discussed how a lip tattoo should be the same colour as your lips, while eyebrow tattoos shouldn’t be ‘too strong’ in shape.

Next, Anna admitted she’s had cosmetic dental work because she was ‘born with terrible teeth’, adding: ‘It has been a massive pain in my life so I definitely know a lot about this chapter.’

She continued: ‘When you pick the colour of your veneers or crowns, please do not pick the most white one. It’s not going to look good. It’s going to look so fake.

‘One thing that you need to pay attention to is that with time, actually your veneers are going to change slightly in colour. They’re going to go a little bit darker so you can go slightly lighter.

‘Just do not go for the lightest because that one does not look good. That definitely cheapens the presentation and I would say the same would apply if you do traditional teeth whitening, natural is always best.’

The elegance coach also urged her viewers to be ‘attentive’ to trimming facial hair, and encouraged them to ditch ‘crazy long eyelash extensions’.

Anna went on to claim in her clip that elegant ladies should opt for more natural makeup and nails.

‘There are two things that happen when people apply makeup that is too harsh for their complexion,’ said the expert.

‘They actually look older, and number two, harsh makeup may make you look a little bit more aggressive so if you don’t want to have that kind of energy in your presentation then be aware of this.’
