Jamie Lynn Spears shot to fame as a child actor on Nickelodeon and is now stepping into the I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! jungle, saying goodbye to her doting husband.
The younger sister of Britney Spears, 32 played Zoey Brooks on the Nickelodeon teen sitcom Zoey 101 and went on to star in the follow on movie Zoey 102 and Netflix's drama series Sweet Magnolias as Noreen Fitzgibbons. Jamie has also launched a career as a country singer and appeared on Dancing with the Stars.
But away from the spotlight, Jamie spends time with her husband Jamie Watson and her two children. Let's take a closer look as she steps into the jungle…
Who is Jamie's husband?
Jamie Lynn met her husband, Jamie Watson, 41, after they were introduced by a mutual friend in 2010. It came following Jamie Lynn's split from partner Casey Aldridge, the father of her first child.
Jamie hails from Louisiana, US and is the owner of Advanced Media Partners, a communications service in the area. The couple got engaged in 2013 and tied the knot the following year – in March this year, they celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary.
During a TLC special, Jamie Lynn Spears: When the Lights Go Out in 2016, her husband described himself as a "normal guy with a normal job." He also admitted to not knowing who the Zoey 101 star was before they first met.
Supporting sister-in-law
Following Britney Spears' testimony at her conservatorship hearing on June 23, 2021, Jamie spoke out in support of his sister-in-law. At the time he told the New York Post: "I can assure you her family loves her and wants the best for her.
"I wouldn’t be around people who weren’t. Who wouldn’t want to be in support of Britney?"
Britney's testimony had been the first time the star had spoken out in open court in over 13 years about the conservatorship that was put in place back in 2008. She had called the conservatorship "stupid" and "abusive" and on Friday, 12 November 2021 the judge announced the termination of Britney's conservatorship.
Doting father
The couple have one daughter together, Ivey Joan Watson, who was born in April 2018. Celebrating Ivey's third birthday back in 2021, the doting mum took to Instagram to pay tribute.
She said: "Ivey has brought us so much joy in these past 3 years, it was only fair that we had a celebration just for IVEY, with all of the things that fill her little spirit up with the same joy and love she shares with everyone around her."
The 41 year old is also a stepfather to Jamie Lynn's daughter, Maddie Briann Aldridge who was born in June 2008. The TV star was 16 years old when she announced she was pregnant – at the time she was starring in Nickelodeon's Zoey 101 and left the show for parenthood.
Following the arrival of her second daughter in 2018, Jamie Lynn opened up about becoming a mum for the second time. She told PEOPLE: "As we all know, there was a lot of chaos around my last pregnancy.
"I would say that being a mom is being a mom: It doesn't matter if you're in your teens or not, there should be no excuse to not be a great mother. It doesn't matter what your age is."
She added that the only difference between her two pregnancies was the support system around her. Maddie's dad, Casey Aldridge, 34, was arrested and charged with five counts of burglary of a storage house and one count of burglary of a dwelling in 2020.
