Netflix Games is working on a video game version of Hwang Dong-hyuk’s hit series, Squid Game.
The news was announced on the Netflix blog by Netflix Games Vice President Mike Verdu, although the announcement was only in the form of one sentence. A release date was not revealed, only that the video game will see you “compete with other players in games from the hit series.”
A video game is the latest expansion in the Squid Game universe, with Netflix recently debuting the first season of the competition series Squid Game: the Challenge, which saw one out of 456 real players win a whopping USD $4.56 million. The show was renewed for a second season.
Other games unveiled by Verdu include titles in the Money Heist and Sonic Mania universes, which are set to either release “soon” or in 2024.
