    Gray 'in Saudi talks'

Demarai Gray is reportedly in talks with Al-Ettifaq over a move to Saudi Arabia.

The switch would see the Everton forward join up with former Liverpool stars Steven Gerrard and Jordan Henderson.

According to the Daily Mail, talks are underway, which come after he took to social media to appear to fire a shot at manager Sean Dyche.

He wrote: "Everton fans have always been great with me, but it’s so difficult to play for someone who doesn’t show you respect as a person."

Szoboszlai insists Salah keen to stay

Dominik Szoboszlai believes Mo Salah wants to stay at Liverpool after they each scored in this afternoon’s 3-0 win over Aston Villa.

Hungary skipper Szoboszlai, a £60million summer recruit from RB Leipzig, fired the first goal and Al-Ittihad target Salah got the last.

The Reds have rebuffed the Saudis’ £150million offer for their frontman, with claims they are prepared to bid up to £200m.

Szoboszlai said: “Everyone is talking about it and of course we are talking about it to each other.

“But he wants to stay and be here so we are happy. He is a great person and we need guys like that.”

Arsenal & Man Utd fixtures changed

Arsenal’s Premier League clash at Everton has been switched from Saturday September 16 to the following day.

Newcastle’s clash against Brentford has been moved forward a day due to their Champions League game against AC Milan on Tuesday September 19.

Toon were due to play the televised game on the 17th at 4:30pm.

But Arsenal will now play in that slot, with Eddie Howe’s side taking the Gunners’ tea-time Saturday kick-off.

Six matches in total have been moved by the Prem, with more to follow in the coming months due to Aston Villa‘s involvement in the Europa Conference League.

Villa’s visit to Chelsea has been moved to a day later on September 24 because they take on Legia Warsaw three days earlier.

Their involvement in Europe means Villa’s clash with Wolves has also been rescheduled to take place on Sunday – October 8.

Aston Villa vs Luton has also been switched to a Sunday and been allocated a 2pm kickoff.

Manchester United’s Champions League commitments also means they have had a change to their fixture list.

Sky Sports have picked their game against Sheffield United to be shown live on TV, but it can no longer take place on Sunday as the Red Devils face Copenhagen the following Tuesday. United will now face the Blades on Saturday October 21 at 8pm.

Van de Beek U-turn 'rejected by Lorient'

Lorient rebuffed an 11th-hour offer from Donny van de Beek – due to how he treated their approach early in the summer.

That’s the claim tonight as the outcast Manchester United midfielder again failed to move.

VDB reportedly snubbed interest from the French top-flight club early in the transfer window.

And that attitude is said to be the reason Lorient declined to talk when the Holland star’s representatives told them at 10pm on deadline day they were willing to discuss a move.

Walker explains why he rejected Bayern

Kyle Walker signed a two-year extension at Manchester City after turning down the chance to join Harry Kane at Bayern Munich.

The Treble-winners’ England defender admitted he was “close” to joining the German giants.

But 33-year-old Walker, whose deal was set to expire next summer, now wants to end his career at the Etihad.

He said: “In the back of my mind, I always wanted to play for Man City but I had to do what was right for me and my future and that was just whichever club gave me the most years.

“Why would you want to leave a club like this?It wasn’t like I was going to a worse club.

“Bayern Munich are massive and seeing what Harry is doing there and will do, it wasn’t a step down — it was just who gave me the years to play at the highest level. It was close but it wasn’t meant to be.

Why should I walk away from City if I am going to get enough game time. That’s all I want because to stay at home with the kids would be hard work!"

Why Chelsea dropped out of Madd race

Chelsea dropped out of the race for James Maddison due to their new policy of pursuing younger talents.

That's the claim from Football Insider – as Maddison continues to perform brilliantly for new club Tottenham.

The ex-Leicester playmaker, 26, has won three England caps and cost Spurs £45million this summer.

It's understood new Stamford Bridge boss Mauricio Pochettino was keen on Maddison's flair.

But with the Blues now preferring to develop starlets, they instead brought in Romeo Lavia, 19, and 21-year-old Moises Caicedo.

    'Losing Pavard like two players'

Thomas Tuchel claims the exit of Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool target Benjamin Pavard was "like losing two players".

Inter Milan beat a host of Prem giants to sign the versatile Bayern Munich defender last week.

And Bayern boss Tuchel was unhappy as he believes his rearguard is the one area where the German champions lack cover.

Pavard, 27, can play at right-back or in central defence.

And ex-Chelsea chief Tuchel said: “In attack we have virtually two players in every position.

“But then in defence, it’s different… In losing Benjamin Pavard, it’s like losing a player in two positions."

    'City made £60m Eze bid'

Manchester City made a £60million last-ditch bid for Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze, it's claimed.

But it's thought the Friday night move spluttered partly because City instead landed fellow midfielder Matheus Nunes from Wolves for £53m deal.

Pep Guardiola's Treble winners also let a batch of youngsters go out on loan, whiles Chelsea signed Cole Palmer for £45m.

The Mirror say City were battling to complete a deal for Eze until late in the evening.

    Chelsea signing Cole is 'strange'

Souness puzzled by Chelsea spending £42.5m on Cole

Graem Souness is baffled by Chelsea splashing £42.5million on Manchester City's rookie midfielder Cole Palmer.

The England Under-21 star was mainly a sub at best for Pep Guardiola's Treble winners.

In all he played 41 games for City, notching six goals and two assists.

And it's thought Chelsea chief Mauricio Pochettino admires his versatility as he can play as a winger as well as an attacking midfielder.

Souness told The Daily Mail: “Chelsea’s decision to spend £42.5mon Cole Palmer, a 21-year-old with three Premier League starts, strikes me as strange and extremely bold.

“It might all come together for Chelsea, who are spending a fortune on players of enormous potential who one day, with a big question mark attached, might be top men for them.

“Their supporters, like all others, want instant success. After a miserable season, they will have limited patience and won’t be slow in venting their frustration. I can see where they’re coming from.”

Rooney eyed two Red Devils for DC

Wayne Rooney tried to bring former Manchester United players Jesse Lingard and Ravel Morrison to DC United.

DC manager Rooney went back to his old Premier League stomping grounds in search of reinforcement for the 2023-2024 MLS season.

According to the Washington Post, Lingard held talks with the American club this summer after becoming a free agent following his departure from Nottingham Forest.

The versatile midfielder was seeking a guaranteed long-term contract and that led to negotiations hitting a snag.

Rooney also cited salary cap issues during a recent press conference and confirmed DC United were unlikely to add any free agents.

The 30-year-old had been spotted training across from Inter Miami's DRV PNK Stadium as he revealed he was "considering all options".

Lingard told Sky Sports: "I'm considering all options. I've never ruled out any team or club out, so for me it's just picking the right team and it's got to be right for me.

"I just want to play football at the end of the day and that's all I want to do."

Rooney also tried to bring United cult hero Morrison back to his team during the summer. The playmaker joined DC last year and amassed two goals in 14 appearances.

    Ange hails 'different' Brennan

Boss Ange Postecoglou says new winger Brennan Johnson offers Tottenham something "different".

Spurs paid Nottingham Forest £47.5million for the 20-cap Welshman, 22.

Postecoglou said: “He’s just another exciting young player.

"He’s a real threat in the front third, he’s different from what we’ve already got, he’s young and ambitious.

"It’s no secret that’s the model for me.

“It’s just as much about the person as well as the footballer, and looking at him he’s going to fit in really well with this group.

“The technical and the physical attributes he has, he should fit in really well.”

Fowler reckons Salah could go for £300M!

Robbie Fowler is convinced fellow Liverpool strike legend Mo Salah will follow him to Saudi Arabia.

Fowler manages second-tier outfit Al-Qadsiah and expects top-flight big-spenders Al-Ittihad to eventually land Salah.

Liverpool rejected Al-Ittihad's £150million offer but are braced for a bigger bid as Saudi clubs can sign players until Thursday.

Fowler wrote in the Mirror: "The money Liverpool have already turned down is truly mind-boggling – but, honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if that is doubled before the end of this week.

"Think about what a coup it would be for the Pro League to have him as their ambassador.

"He's genuinely a superstar. After Messi and Ronaldo, he's the most famous footballer in the world. That's the level he's at.

"It's going to be a helluva few days if you're a Liverpool fan like me, so brace yourself for something mind-boggling this week, Reds!"

    'Red Devils lack personalities'

Roy Keane believes old club Manchester United "drastically lack personalities".

The ex-Red Devils hardman believes the flaw will cost boss Erik ten Hag dearly when the going gets tough away from home.

Keane told Sky Sports: "It is a huge concern, 100%.

"When you look at the stats, that's a bad reflection on the players that you have, because Manchester United clearly have a lot of talented players.

"But it suggests that they are just dependent on their talents and lack those personalities.

"Their record away from home has to improve, because of the standards of other teams around you. I don't like looking at that.

"If you want to be a top team and compete [for the title], they have to improve that drastically."

Szoboszlai says Salah wants to stay

New Liverpool hero Dominik Szoboszlai insists Mo Salah wants to stay at Liverpool after they both netted in today's 3-0 defeat of Aston Villa.

Hungary midfielder Szoboszlai, signed from RB Leipzig this summer, drilled the opener and Al-Ittihad target Salah bagged the final goal.

Liverpool have reportedly rejected a £150million bid from the Saudis for their Egypt striker, amid suggestions of a £170m follow-up offer and a £200m upper limit.

Szoboszlai said: "Everyone is talking about it and of course we are talking about it to each other.

"But he wants to stay and be here so we are happy. He is a great person and we need guys like that."

    Gray area

Demarai Gray has appeared to take a swipe at his own club Everton amid speculation over his future at Goodison Park.

Alongside a picture of someone walking towards a car, Gray wrote on Instagram said: “Everton fans have always been great with me but it’s so difficult to play for someone who don’t show you respect as a person.”

His comments come after manager Sean Dyche explained his absence from Saturday’s squad for the 2-2 draw with Sheffield United.

The Everton boss said: “It’s a bit of everything.

“His fitness, his fitness to play in the side, the situation around him and all the noise.

“But hopefully over the next couple of weeks that will become clearer, he’ll get himself fit and it’s a start point.”

    Hav to wait and see

New boy Kai Havertz will continue to struggle for form and the right position at Arsenal.

That’s the verdict of ex-defender William Gallas, who played for the Gunners, Havertz’s old club Chelsea and Tottenham.

The Frenchman told Gambling Zone: “At the moment Havertz isn’t performing.

“I was surprised to see him go to Arsenal. They could have got another player.

“It is difficult for him to find the right position.

“How Arsenal play is not the same as Chelsea – it’s hard for him at the moment. I don’t think he is going to be a success at Arsenal.”

    Rob-ed the bank

Some fans are frustrated at receiving just £4million for the transfer of Rob Holding.

The defender, who joined the club in 2016 made 162 appearances for The Gunners.

He had been linked with a loan move to both Palace and Luton but has left the club to join The Eagles on a three year deal.

One fan said: “4 million for a big team player is embarassing.”

Another said: “Arsenal does the worst business selling players.”

But most fans will be pleased with the fee, particularly as it is double the £2m they paid for him all the way back in 2016.

    Liverpool receive Salah warning

Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler has tipped Mohamed Salah to continue playing deep into his 30s but concedes the Egyptian won't be at Anfield for too much longer.

He wrote in his Mirror column: "My advice though, would be to stay at Anfield longer.

"Mo can help Liverpool get back into the Champions League, he can help them win more titles and more trophies – and they will still be waiting in Saudi Arabia.

"He’ll definitely play on past 36, the age Messi is now, and also Ronaldo, who is 38.

"And if he continues to win things with Liverpool and break all their scoring records, then he’ll become an even greater legend and hero in this part of the world.

"It’s going to be a helluva few days if you’re a Liverpool fan like me… so brace yourself for something mind-boggling this week, Reds."
