Prime Minister Boris Johnson was last night moved into an intensive care unit in hospital as he continues his battle against coronavirus. As such, the Prime Minister was very much the topic of discussion on Jeremy Vine today as the TV presenter discussed with former Brexit Party MP Martin Daubney and journalist Ash Sarkar what the future holds for the UK government and Labour’s potential involvement.

There has been some suggestion a National Government would be the appropriate step forward during the ongoing pandemic.
Therefore, Jeremy was tasked with putting this idea forward to his guests on the Channel 5 show.
However, Martin found himself amused by the suggestion before Jeremy could even pose the question.
Jeremy opened the debate by saying: “There has been some speculation among Labour and Tory MPs about the idea even before Mr Johnson was admitted to hospital,”

He added: “And the new Labour leader Keir Starmer has not totally ruled it out.
“He’s just, of course, named his shadow cabinet. You will have seen people like Ed Miliband coming back who may be able to help in this crisis…”
Jeremy soon stopped his monologue as he found himself distracted by laughter coming from Martin.
The Channel 5 host then quizzed the former Brexit Party MP directly: “You don’t think so, Martin, no?”
Clearly amused by Labour’s decision to reemploy Ed, Martin sarcastically hit back: “Yeah, in Britain’s hour of need, let’s get back Ed Miliband,
“The guy who was obliterated in 2015 and was the reason millions of voters who had voted Labour all their lives, including myself, abandoned the Labour party.
“I think we’ve got to be really, really careful here of how this is perceived,
“I’m speaking as a former politician who knocked on thousands of doors during the General Election campaign in December.
“This isn’t about politicians right now, this isn’t about splitting power or some craven political land-grab by the Labour party who cannot get elected by legitimate means, all day long!”
Martin continued his outburst: “Their politics have been soundly rejected – we don’t even have a united Labour party at the moment!
“Momentum are tearing the party apart, Keir Starmer has just kicked out a load of Corbynistas,
“Most people wouldn’t trust that lot to run a bath, let alone the country!”

The former politician finished his rant by saying: “Now is not the time for more politics.”
Jeremy moved the debate on following Martin’s scathing and comprehensive rant.
The Channel 5 show went on to address whether non-essential deliveries should be banned as well as the latest on Prine Harry and Meghan Markle’s charity.
