Kai Widdrington may be loved up with fellow Strictly Come Dancing star Nadiya Bychkova, however the professional dancer has revealed that he doesn't get to see much of her when the show is on TV.
The 28-year-old, who confirmed his romance with fellow dancer Nadiya, 33, in January last year, told OK! in an exclusive interview that it's "difficult" to find time to spend with his girlfriend.
"During the show, myself and my girlfriend [fellow professional Nadiya Bychkova] try to spend as much time together as we can but it’s very, very difficult because of rehearsals," the professional dancer said.
Strictly Come Dancing stars glam up for night out as they prepare for BBC show return
"We don’t actually get a day off because you’re rehearsing Monday to Saturday and on Sunday you’re choreographing for the following week. There's no real day off for us. Strictly is work and you’ve got to get the job done."
In an interview with OK! earlier in the year, the couple revealed that they get to spend "every single minute of the day" together when on tour.
Kai added that the secret to their successful relationship is "always being there for each other no matter what even when it gets hard".
"We all go through hard times and struggles – that's what relationships are about," he added.
They also revealed that marriage and expanding their family is on the card as well, with Nadiya – who has daughter Mia with her ex-fiancé Matija Škarabot – saying that marriage is "important" to her. "One day I would like to be a wife," she added.
“It’s a future I want, too, absolutely,” Kai said. “I would love to be a dad and one day be a husband and have a family. Ultimately, we’re not trying to start a family right now, but we are trying to create that family feeling among us and that’s important.”
Ahead of the new series of Strictly, Neil joined his fellow professional dancers Johannes Radebe, Carlos Gu, Neil Jones, and Vito Coppola as they spoke about the celebrity line-up.
This year, 15 celebrities will be taking to the dance floor, including Family Fortunes host Les Dennis, Casualty's Nigel Harman, former tennis professional and broadcaster Annabel Croft, EastEnders star Bobby Brazier, former Coronation Street star Ellie Leach and Love Island star Zara McDermott.
They'll be joined by actor Adam Thomas, TV presenter Angela Scanlon and Channel 4 newsreader Krishnan Guru-Murthy among others.
Strictly Come Dancing starts on Saturday 23rd September on BBC One.
