Strictly Come Dancing fans were left feeling gutted for pro dancer Neil Jones after they claimed bosses “took a second swipe” at him.
The glitzy BBC One show was back for another instalment on Sunday night (October 8) for the second results show of the series. And for one couple – their Strictly journey was over.
At the start of the programme, viewers were treated to an epic Barbie performance. All of the pro dancers transformed into Barbie and Kens.

But it seems the bosses’ decision to cast Neil as Alan didn’t go down too well. Especially after claimed he was “snubbed” from a celebrity partner in this year’s series.
Over on X, one viewer penned: “I really feel like they’re just taking the p*ss out of Neil at this point…” Someone else added: “Neil as Allan feels like bullying in the workplace.”
While others loved Neil’s casting as Alan. Another fan penned: “Neil as Allan kinda stole the show in the Barbie pro dance.” Echoing their thoughts, someone else said: “Outstanding opening dance. Only Neil could have played Alan.”
It comes after fans were left fuming over Neil getting “snubbed” from the show. The popular pro dancer hasn't been given a celebrity partner for the second year in a row.
Neil has been on Strictly since 2014 and has been on screen every year since. However, he’s only been part of the main line-up twice.
He competed with former England Lionesses star turned TV host, Alex Scott, in 2019. Then in 2021, he was partnered alongside actress Nina Wadia.
