Jamie Laing reflected on a close friendship he shares with former Strictly Come Dancing professional Oti Mabuse.

Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, Jamie recalled his time on the hit BBC competition, where he danced with Karen Hauer.

When asked if he remained friends with anyone from the show, he explained: “I’m still really friendly with Oti, I think she’s amazing.

“I’m friendly with Gio [Pernice] of course… You know what I’m friendly with lots of them.

“And I saw Bill Bailey the other day, Bill’s amazing – you create a bond with them that kind of never goes.”

Oti joined Strictly in 2015 and was a staple on the show until she decided to quit following the 2021 series.

She went on to win the show twice, once alongside Kelvin Fletcher in 2019 and again in 2020 with Bill Bailey.

On his former dance partner, he added: “I haven’t spoken to Karen, but we had this friendship where we don’t need to speak so much.

“So we occasionally just chat, but we haven’t spoken since this Strictly has happened.

“But she’s she’s one of the greatest. She is one of the greatest, She’s amazing.”

While Jamie admitted Strictly was a difficult show to take part in, he said he’d love to do it again given the chance.

However, he would want a few things to be different if he joined the competition again.

“I would do it again,” Jamie explained when asked if he’d want to return to the dance show.

“I would dance with my wife Sophie, she would be my partner.”

Continuing, he joked: “Because I’d be the professional and she would be the contestant, it would be the best.”

Strictly Come Dancing continues tonight at 7.30pm on BBC One.
