Jane starts Loose Women by sending Ruth ‘get better soon’ message
Loose Women panelists wished Ruth Langsford a speedy recovery as she was once again absent from Monday’s show.
Opening the chat show, presenter Jane Moore announced: “Now, first we will be starting by wishing a speedy recovery to our Ruth, who has been resting up at home with a chest infection.”
She continued: “She’s on the mend and hopes to be back very soon… Lots of love to you Ruth, from all of us.”
The audience clapped in agreement before the show officially began.
Last week, Ruth was forced to miss a whole week of shows and revealed on her social media she’d been struck down with a chest infection.

On Friday, the 63-year-old wrote on her Instagram: “My ‘lurgy’ is actually a chest infection!
“So here I am on antibiotics and a steam vapouriser twice a day!”
She also shared how she’d been left bedbound and explained how she’s been sipping on lemon, ginger and munka leaf herbal tea.
She captioned the post: “I’m trying everything!”

She had been keeping fans posted throughout the week with snaps of the different remedies she’d been trying out.
One photo showed her dog Maggie lying under the covers as she explained the pooch had joined her as she recovered.
Ruth has been a regular on the ITV show since 1999.
Despite leaving the show in 2002, Ruth returned in 2010 as a a stand-in anchor before rejoining officially a year later as a regular anchor.
She’s enjoyed an expansive career with ITV, having hosted This Morning alongside GB News star husband Eamonn Holmes from 2007 to 2021.
It seems Ruth isn’t the only one if her household recovering at the moment.
Updating GB News viewers on his bad back on Monday, Eamonn confessed: “I just got problems last year in my back, which I haven’t recovered from and I can’t run, I can’t walk, I can’t do anything except watch TV and eat.”
Loose Women airs weekdays from 12.30pm on ITV.
