Hot on the heels of last week’s exciting show, which saw Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin earn the highest score of the series so far, the remaining twelve contestants will once again be going to head to head this Saturday as they try to win over the judges in Week Five of the competition.
However, with the standards for this year’s competition continuing to rise, it’s safe to say that all of the celebrities and their partners have been pushing themselves to the absolute limit this week in a series of ‘gruelling’ rehearsals that have left even the most athletic of stars breathless.
And to make matters worse, there have even been a number of tumbles and sickness facing out favourite stars this week, with Layton Williams having already taken a tumble during rehearsals, while Adam Thomas – wrestled with a mystery illness.
Despite the setbacks however, all of the stars have vowed to keep on dancing in the hopes of securing a place in next week’s highly anticipated Halloween special.
With a smorgasbord of stunning performances to tantalise and entertain viewers at home, eagle eyed fans can expect to be treated to a variety of different dance styles and genres from this year’s batch of contestants.
Among some of the standout performances you won’t want to miss are Zara McDermott and Graziano di Prima ’s stunning American Smooth set to LeAnn Rimes' Can't Fight The Moonlight, Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola 's mesmerising Paso Doble to Insomnia by Faithless, and of even Nigel Harman and Katya Jones ' lively Foxtrot to I Just Want to Make Love to You by Etta James.
Saturday’s show will also see the second Couple’s Choice dance of the series, as Adam Thomas and Luba Mushtuk hope to replicate Eddie Kadi’s success earlier this month, with their performance set to a Backstreet Boys medley.
Eddie famously bagged the first 10 of the series in week three of the competition, when he performed a jaw dropping Men In Black inspired dance during Movie Week.
As ever, OK! will be here live-blogging every step of the way, to keep you up to date on the latest injuries, costume changes and judges comments ahead of Strictly Come Dancing’s live show which kicks off on Saturday 21 October at 6:35 pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
Without further ado, let’s get dancing…

‘Strictly’s Layton and Nikita care for each other – but their journey will soon be over’
Strictly Come Dancing’s Layton and Nikita ‘care for each other’ but are unlikely to reach the final of the show, a body language expert said.
The pairing are going ‘from strength to strength each week’ but Bad Education actor Layton Williams, 29, is displaying signs of nerves ‘from time to time’, Darren Stanton added. The body language guru said the couple had a “strong connection” and had developed “in terms of their chemistry” but he predicted they would not go further than the semi-final on the BBC show.
Meanwhile, Darren said he believed Sherlock actress Amanda Abbington and her pro dance partner Giovanni Pernice were Strictly’s ‘strongest couple compatibility and chemistry wise’. The body language expert believes the race for the coveted Glitterball trophy was a ‘head to head’ between Amanda and Giovanni, and actor Nigel Harman and his pro partner Katya Jones.
