Strictly Come Dancing stars earnings revealed with boost midway through series

The competition is beginning to heat up on this year's series of Strictly Come Dancing, with just six celebrities remaining following Angela Rippon's elimination.

Bobby Brazier, Annabel Croft, Ellie Leach, Nigel Harman, Layton Williams and Angela Scanlon remain on the BBC One show and will be taking to the dance floor once again on Saturday, 25 November as they continue to fight to take home the Glitterball trophy.

While only one celebrity can be crowned the winner of Strictly Come Dancing 2023, they do all take home a nice pay cheque for their time on the show, with each contestant allegedly being paid thousands.

The BBC has never revealed how much contestants are paid to appear on Strictly, but it's been reported that each star is paid a flat rate of Ā£25,000.

This fee increases throughout the series, according to The Sun, and if the stars impress in the first few weeks, their fee increases to Ā£40,000. Those who reach the quarter-finals see their earnings reach a whopping Ā£60,000.

The lucky celebrities who make it all the way to the grand final reportedly take home an impressive Ā£75,000 for their time on Strictly.

While the winner of the BBC show gets to take home the Glitterball trophy, they're also awarded Ā£100,000 for taking the top spot, so it's no wonder that every contestant has their eye on the prize.

Former Strictly Come Dancing pro James Jordan, 45, has revealed contestants receive a pay rise when they reach Blackpool in the ninth week of the show.

Chatting to HELLO! on his show, James discussed Krishnan Guru-Murthy's exit from the competition in week eight, revealing he'd missed out on a pay rise.

He said: "This is the stage where the celebrities get their pay increase because it's incremental," before adding that when the stars reach Blackpool, they get a "boost in their wages".

Krishnan and partner Lauren Oakley were eliminated from Strictly in week eight after facing Angela Rippon and Kai Widdrington in the dread dance off.

Angela and Kai made it to Blackpool but unfortunately wound up in the dance off again, this time facing Bobby Brazier and Dianne Buswell.

The judges – Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and Shirley Ballas – opted to save Bobby over Angela, making the 79 year old the ninth contestant to be eliminated on the series.
