Strictlys Anton Du Beke denies warning from bosses after crude joke

Eddie Kadi leaves Strictly Come Dancing

Strictly Come Dancing judge Anton Du Beke has denied claims that he has been issued a “warning” by Strictly bosses after making a naughty joke about fellow judge Craig Revel Horwood.

During Saturday night’s show, Anton was giving his critiques towards Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin’s incredible Samba.

He had teased that he and Craig had performed a similar dance move together while the latter was naked during a trip away together.

Anton quipped: “I said, ‘Why don’t we try that lift?’ So he came at me and I said, ‘Shouldn’t you put some clothes on?’.

“The only reason I’m telling you this is because I have nothing to say about this dance — it was pretty much perfect.”

The audience gasped at the saucy joke and laughed, but it has been claimed the show’s producers weren’t so amused.

A source told The Sun: “Producers reminded Anton that Strictly is a family show and cheeky, subtle innuendo for the adult viewers is fine but he’d taken things a little too far.”

They reportedly told Anton to tone his comments down for the pre-watershed programme, something which the judge’s representatives have since denied.

Express.co.uk has contacted the BBC and Anton’s representatives for a comment.

Viewers at home also took to Twitter, formerly known as X, to react to the saucy comment, as one fan wrote: “Anton is killing me with his jokes.”

Another added: “Still laughing at Anton’s joke story about the ‘lift’ with Craig ‘he should have put clothes on’ Brilliant! Love Anton’s humour.”

A third quipped: “Wow Anton got a dirty mind haha!”

“I’ll never get rid of that image of Anton and Craig now,” a fourth user noted. (sic)

Unfortunately for comedian Eddie Kadi and partner Karen Hauer, it was the end of their Strictly journey after being voted as the fourth couple to leave the competition.

He faced the dreaded dance-off against Zara McDermott and Graziano Di Prima, who were saved by all four judges.

Speaking about his time on the show, Eddie said: “I’ve really enjoyed this, it’s something I’ve always wanted to do – I love dancing.

“This has been the highest moment of my career – it’s the happiest I’ve ever been, but not just for me – my family – my little baby girl is at home doing the Men in Black dance.

“Even more importantly this wonderful Queen [to Karen], there are two parts to this show – we want to entertain, I believe that God has brought this to me, I just want to make people happy and this gem over here has kept me happy – I love you so much God bless you.”

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday from 6:40pm on BBC One, followed by the results on Sunday at 7:15pm on BBC One.
