Moment 'Russian landing boat is destroyed by drone'

Moment ‘Russian landing boat is destroyed by drone’ as Ukraine’s kamikaze weapons ‘also strike FSB building near nuclear power plant’

  • Video reportedly shows Bayraktar-TB2 kamikaze drone destroying Russian boat
  • Russia is said to have suffered fatalities and casualties in the Ukrainian strike

This is the moment a Russian landing boat was reportedly destroyed by a Ukrainian drone amid intense new sea battles in the war in Ukraine.

Footage reportedly shows a Ukrainian Bayraktar-TB2 kamikaze drone destroying a Russian KS-701 Tuna vessel in the northwestern Black Sea.

Russia suffered fatalities and casualties in the strike, with a military helicopter airlifting the wounded according to reports.

It comes as a Ukrainian kamikaze drone struck a FSB security service building in the nuclear town of Kurchatov in Kursk region in a separate attack, according to Russian news outlet Baza.

It was the wreckage of a shot down drone that hit the FSB building’s roof, Baza reported. The extent of any damage was not clear.

Surveillance cameras caught the sound of a huge explosion in Kurchatov, which is the location of the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant.

Regional governor Roman Starovoyt said: ‘An attack by a Ukrainian drone caused fire to a non-residential building in the city of Kurchatov.

‘The fire was extinguished. No-one was hurt.’

Separately, a huge inferno was underway at a warehouse in Moscow region.

Flames spread to 13,000 square metres as more than 20 flights were delayed and eight more cancelled at major Moscow international airports due to kamikaze drones.

Unconfirmed Russian reports said the warehouse contained ‘paints and varnishes’.

But Vladimir Putin’s forces claimed to have inflicted heavy casualties on Ukraine.

Naval aircraft allegedly destroyed four US-supplied Willard Sea Force speedboats as they sought to land near Cape Tarkhankut on the coast of Russian-annexed Crimea.

Ukraine has sought recently to stage several landings on the occupied territory, but disputes the Russian claim over the four boats.

Russia also claimed to have ‘wiped out’ more than 125 Ukrainian marines in the south Donetsk area.

‘Over 125 Ukrainian servicemen, a combat armoured vehicle and two automobiles were destroyed,’ said the Moscow ministry of defence.

Meanwhile, a Russian general has admitted a shortfall in Russian mobilisation recruitment.

At the weekend former Russian president Dmitry Medvedev said some 280,000 had signed contracts with the defence ministry since the start of this year.

Some were reservists and some volunteers.

But Lt General Viktor Sobolev – now a Communist MP – said that the target was 400,000 – indicating a 120,000 shortfall in Kremlin plans.

‘We need 400,000 in total,’ he said.

‘This is due to what our general staff has planned – the creation of new associations, formations and units.

‘This number is determined so that there will not be any more mobilisations, for which we are not quite ready.’
