This Morning: Orchestra opens the show with ‘Tainted Love’
This Morning viewers were left divided as presenters Josie Gibson and Rylan Clark entered the studio after a gothic orchestra played a rendition of Tainted Love.
The opening titles had been edited for Halloween before the orchestra, who were dressed in dark and gothic clothing, played the song.
Within moments, ITV viewers were left cringing and annoyed with the “train wreck” performance and took to their X accounts, formerly known as Twitter.
@SenorApple2014 fumed: “This is going to be a f***ing train wreck… #ThisMorning.”
Peter Brown expressed: “#ThisMorning What a silly start to the show.”

However, not all viewers were unimpressed with the performance as user @LadyFerny praised: “Really, really enjoyed that orchestra #ThisMorning.”

Walking out into the studio, Rylan exclaimed: “Happy Halloween everyone!” to which Josie added: “Welcome to your Tuesday’s This Morning where we are throwing a gothic Halloween party.”
Rylan continued: “Thank you to the London Symphonic Rock Orchestra for starting the party in style, they are going to be back later on, well-done guys.
“Sorry, I am just really distracted you look gorgeous!” he told Josie, before adding: “I think I am giving Shakespeare’s sister, that used to really scare me as a child.”
The team then played a montage of all the Halloweens Rylan has taken part in at This Morning, where one clip saw him scared by guest Steve Wilson and nearly swore on live TV.
As the montage came to an end, he admitted: “There was a clip in there where I nearly lost every job I had ever worked for.
“When Steve Wilson jumped out of the table, I nearly said a very terrible word! We have got a lot of tricks and treats lined up for you today.”
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1 and ITVX.
