Coronation Street viewers have warned Carla Connor as she uncovers murderous Stephen Reid's chilling ways, because they think she could be next on his hit list.

During Wednesday's episode (October 4), Carla received the results from her latest blood test. Reading her results to her partner Peter, the business owner was shocked to discover that she was spiked with LSD.

Trying to put the clues together, Carla first turned her attention to Rufus, who was also spiked with the same drug. But not long after, she quickly realised that Stephen was the culprit.

Confronting the murderer, Carla raged at him while in the factory. She later headed to the police and tried to explain her side of the story.

But fans urged Carla to be careful as some reckoned she could be Stephen's next victim. Heading to X, formerly known as Twitter, one viewer said: "Carla needs to be careful – she's putting herself in the firing line."

Another upset viewer wrote: "Stephens going to kill Carla isn’t he?" While a third added that Stephen might decide to get rid of Carla before he jets off to the airport with Jenny. The fan penned: "Stephen’s thinking 'I’m sure I’ll have time to kill Carla before I dash to the airport'…"

After Carla went to the police station, she was left feeling disappointed when DS Lisa Swain told her she needed more evidence to pin Stephen down. Feeling heartbroken by the news, Carla left the police station in haste.

But later on, Carla received better news when DS Lisa paid her a visit and warned her to not give Stephen an inkling of what they're up to. But unbeknownst to them, while Lisa and Carla stood in the street and spoke about a potential case, Stephen was watching them from a distance.
