BBC’s beloved comedy series Dad’s Army will make a return to screens with a string of salvaged episodes.
Five lost early programmes will be released on DVD and air on UKTV Gold.
However, the classic former BBC One comedy show will be returning in the form of new animated specials.
Dad's Army aired between 1968 and 1977, with the BBC broadcasting nine seasons with 84 episodes and seven Christmas specials.
The programme became one of the most beloved British sitcoms of all time.
Unfortunately, not all the episodes survived in the original format.

Five early original episodes, which are some of the most sought-after of all lost television programmes, were presumed lost forever after the broadcaster never formally archived them.
Dad's Army – The Missing Episodes will feature all-new hand-drawn animated episodes synced up to the archived voices of the original actors Arthur Lowe, John Le Mesurier, Clive Dunn, John Laurie, Bill Pertwee and Arnold Ridley
The audio-only recordings, which survived for all five classics, have been used as the basis for the new animated episodes.
Also included in the series are exclusive special features – including previously unreleased archive film and a new making of documentary.
