Danny Cipriani is the latest celebrity to sign up for this year's Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special, after the rugby ace reportedly dropped out of I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here.
Danny, 36, will be teaming up with pro dancer Jowita Przystał in the festive season as he aims to impress Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and Shirley Ballas, as well as the audience.
Other celebrities set to take part in the Strictly special include EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick, TV presenter Dan Snow, actress Tillie Amartey, BBC Breakfast host Sally Nugent and Sugababes singer Keisha Buchanan.
Speaking about his decision to take to the dance floor this Christmas, Danny said: “I’ve always enjoyed the concept of Strictly Come Dancing, it wasn’t something I ever thought I’d do.
"After addressing my own ideas and beliefs, I am very much looking forward to expressing myself through dance with no limitations. Strictly brings joy to everyone’s living rooms, being a part of that for Christmas Day will be special.”
Danny's Strictly appearance comes after it was reported that he pulled out of ITV's I'm A Celebrity following his marriage split from wife Victoria. Danny publicly announced he'd separated from his wife on Instagram in November.
"Victoria and I sat together this weekend and agreed to separate after 4 years of marriage. Whilst we've had some wonderful times together, we've also recognised we're on different journeys and whilst this is sad news, it's also a new chapter for us both to purse our own happiness. I only wish the best for Victoria and her children," the 36 year old wrote on Instagram.
Victoria, who married Danny in 2021, has since claimed she was blindsided by the public announcement saying she was made aware "at the same time as the public" in a now-deleted social media post.
She wrote: "Danny publicly announced our split without any prior notice or discussion with me. I was made aware of the situation at the same time as the public, and this has caused me a great deal of pain. I apologise if my reactions and responses have seemed reactive or emotionally charged."
The 42 year old went on to say: "The truth is I am still going through a difficult time and it is challenging to see Danny speaking about our separation publicly while I have not yet found the strength to process it, adjust or heal. I really don't want to be caught up in the fanfare. Sorry for any hurt I have caused."
