TikTok user @lara.joanna.jarvis then suggested people use a Google Chrome extension for voucher codes and cashback to “do all the hard work for you”.

Lara went on to explain that having a “no spend period” can be wildly beneficial, even if it’s just for a weekend.

Lara first found fame on YouTube thanks to her budgeting tips and tricks, where she revealed she saved £25,000 in one year by buying no luxuries and spending money on only essential purchases.

She’s previously spoken exclusively with Fabulous magazine to share tips on how to save £30,000 in a year, five grand more than she did.

Lara said during the year of 2019, she bought no dinners out, no clothes, no coffees and more.

And while it may seem daunting at first, it “totally changed my life” as it completely changed her spending habits “for good”.

She also shared a list of things you should definitely purchase to save you money in long run.

For example, if you spend £25 on a gel manicure every three weeks it will cost you £433 a year in upkeep.

However, a gel nail set would initially cost you as little as £20, saving you £413 over the year.

Equally, having your eyebrows tinted and waxed will set you back around £20, equivalent to £347 a year.
