People say they’re ‘lost for words’ when they hear my son’s name but I love his unique moniker | The Sun

A MUM has been slammed for the name she chose for her newborn son, with the moniker leaving some people "lost for words".

Claire gave birth to her baby boy earlier this month, but has found herself criticised for his unusual name.

In a video on TikTok, she discussed his moniker, as well as other names she'd considered for her tot before she'd known if she was having a boy or a girl.

"If Oak had been born a girl, his name would probably be Sunday," she began.

"I know some other influencers have used it recently, but that's not a good enough reason not to use a name."

She also liked the name Arbour, so said she may have gone for Sunday Arbour had she had a girl.

The other boy name that was "neck and neck" with Oak is Fox, while another contender was Penn.

"I just think it's cool – Penn Edwards? So cool," she smiled.

For a girl, she liked the names Fern and Ruby, but Margot was her frontrunner.

"I wish everyone wasn't naming their baby Margot because I love it so much," she said.

"I honestly might still use it!"

Claire also revealed they'd considered Becks for a boy and Beck for a girl.

"Good luck to everybody naming babies – I know it's hard out here but you're going to find something that's your perfect vibe," she concluded.

"And give it a few days. We had to introduce him a few times before we were like, Ok, yeah, that's the one."

Claire added in the caption: "You can learn so much about the way someone percieves their own vibe based on their baby name list.

"I LOVE discussing names!!!"

But the comments section was almost immediately filled with people criticising Oak's name.

"Imagine meeting a fully grown man called oak," one wrote.

"Oak is my rats name," another added.

"Why don’t parents ever consider what it will be like for that child as an adult? A full grown adult named Fox?!" a third added.

"Lmao i’m— lost for words," someone else commented.

"I met a grown woman named Domino the other day and i thought THAT was wild…" another wrote.

"OAK?" someone else added.

But others were more on board with the unusual child's name.

"I’m naming my second son Salem reign, my first son is elias rhett," one wrote.

"I love how you love different names," another added.

"My son name is Kash and my daughter is Sunnee and people either love the names or they judge me."

"Everybody hating but I think the names are so cute," a third commented.

As someone else wrote: "If I would’ve have had another boy, it would be Bridge.
