Louise Redknapp launches huge new career away from music after Eternal reunion row | The Sun

Louise Redknapp has embarked on a totally new career after she quit the Eternal reunion tour after clashing with bandmates.

The singer stepped away from the girl band after it was revealed that sisters Easther and Vernie Bennett held anti-trans views.

Loose Women star Kelle Bryan also took a stand and chose to walk away from the tour.

The four women shot to fame in the 90s and they were due to go on a nationwide tour and perform at a festival popular with the gay community.

However, a source told how “Louise and Kelle were stunned and pulled out immediately" when they were informed the sisters would not "support the LGBTQ community now it has an alliance with the trans community."

While Louise has enjoyed success as a solo artist, she’s now embarking on a different path away from music.

The 49-year-old is moving into the beauty business and has set up her own firm called Nakd Beauty Ltd.

Louise already has her own fashion range with the clothes store Peacocks and ran her own cosmetics blog on Instagram called Lou Loves By Louise.

The firm has been registered with Companies House for the “wholesale of perfume and cosmetics”.

In 2010, Louise set up Wild About Beauty Ltd to sell toiletries in retail stores, but five years later the firm was wound up with over £2.6 million owed to creditors including £987k to its main backers, Saudi investment fund Alhokair.

It was eventually dissolved in July 2018.

Speaking about her decision to step down from the Eternal tour, a spokesperson for Louise added: "A message was sent to the team putting together the Eternal reunion stating that if it was to go ahead, neither Vernie nor Easther would perform at Pride shows or LGBTQ+ festivals.

"This was because the duo felt that the gay community was being hijacked by the trans community and they do not support this.

"Louise is a huge supporter and ally of the LGBTQ+ community and both herself and Kelle told the duo they would not work with anyone who held these views, and as such the reunion as a four would not be going ahead.”

Eternal were famous for such smash hits as Stay and I Wanna Be The Only One.

They have sold more than 10 million records worldwide, including a million copies of their debut album Always and Forever. Louise left the band after their first album in 1995 and started a solo career.

She enjoyed a string of hits including Naked and Let's Go Round Again.

Louise has recently gone public with her new boyfriend Drew Michael after her divorce with Jamie Redknapp.

The pop star was pictured with Drew in London on a night out in September.

In a sweet post to celebrate her man's birthday, Louise wrote: " Have a great day @thedrew.michael Happy Birthday x."

In the picture the pair cosied up to one another in a busy restaurant. They were also joined by Lou's eldest son Charley, 19.
